Here is information about the European Election held in 2009.  The next European Election will be held in 2014.

Turnout for South West Region Voting:

Residents across the South West Region, including the Isles of Scilly and Gibraltar cast their votes for the European Election on Thursday 4 June 2009.

SOUTH WEST REGION - Results Announced on Sunday 7 June 2009

Paul Kevin Morris, the Regional Returning Officer for the European Parliamentary Election in the South West Region held on 4 June 2009, declared that the number of votes cast for each party is as follows:

  1. Conservative Party - 468,742

  2. United Kingdom Independence Party - 341,845 

  3. Liberal Democrats - 266,253 

  4. The Green Party - 144,179

  5. The Labour Party - 118,716

  6. British National Party  - 60,889

  7. Pensioners Party - 37,785

  8. English Democrats Party - 25,313

  9. Christian Party "Proclaiming Christ's Lordship" - 21,329 

  10. Mebyon Kernow - The Party for Cornwall - 14,922

  11. Socialist Labour Party - 10,033 

  12. No2EU: Yes to Democracy - 9,741

  13. Katie Olivia Hopkins (Independent) - 8,971

  14. Pro Democracy: Liberatas.eu - 7,292 

  15. Fair Pay Fair Trade Party - 7,151 

  16. Jury Team - 5,758

  17. WAI D - 789
